Prior to beginning work on this assignment, read Chapter 1: The Leader’s Light or Shadow and Chapter 2: Stepping In and Out of the Shadows in your Meeting the Ethical Challenges of Leadership: Casting Light or Shadow textbook.
Leadership is a complex topic. Up until now, most of your studies have focused on ethical leadership forms, but ethical leadership is only one part of a much larger leadership picture. There is also a dark side to leadership and to truly understand the ethical side of leadership, you need to understand the dark side.
Review the Shadows interactive to learn more about the shadows that leaders can cast. Evaluate how well you understand these shadows and how they can manifest in leaders.

Summarize your impressions of the different types of destructive or bad leaders and their clusters of destructive behavior.
Discuss why leaders cast shadows instead of light and provide an example of two leaders who cast at least one or more of the shadows and what they are and how they manifest.
Describe one or more ethical dilemmas that you have encountered as a leader, follower, or citizen.
Explain how you resolved these dilemmas.
Explain your thoughts about this week’s reading, and what you learned that will transfer to future ethical decisions.
