Professor Notes: this requires you to access, read, and summarize three pieces of academic literature.
This assignment is based on your mini-assignment from the previous week in which you identified a problem and several research questions that can help address this problem. Now, imagine that your workplace has asked you to be a “Human Relations Consultant” to help the organization address its workplace difficulties. In order to develop your research plan, you need to read existing research to inform the inquiry that you will undertake and to provide you with a framework by which to analyze your data.
First, locate three academic, peer-reviewed sources using CUNY One Search that will be useful to you in establishing what is already known about the problem.
Next, skim the sources paying careful attention to methodology, major findings, and limitations. Take notes as you read to help avoid plagiarism.
Then, write a 4-5 paragraph report that discusses the key findings and limitations from the literature, evaluating each source as a basis for establishing ‘what is already known’ about the issue. Use the following guide in terms of paragraphs. Remember to address your document with the organization as your audience and you as consultant as the author.
