Assignment:
Develop a staffing schedule with rationale.
You can use your work schedule as a reference. Please do not submit your organizations work schedule. This assignment should be your original schedule created on a scheduling application and/or template.
Write a 1 to 2 page rationale for selected shift hours and nurse-to-patient ratios for your selected unit supported by a minimum of 2 current (published within last five years) scholarly journal articles.
Staff schedule should have the following:
- Header (including unit, census, nurse-to-patient ratios)
- At least 5 staff members
- Shifts identified as 8 hours, 10 hours, or 12 hours
- Days or Month
- Days off or vacation of staff (PTO/DTO/FMLA)

Submission Requirements:
- The staffing schedule is to be clear and concise and students will lose points for improper grammar, punctuation and misspelling.
- The staffing schedule is to be formatted per current APA style, 2-3 pages in length, excluding the title, abstract and references page.
- Incorporate a minimum of 2 current (published within last five years) scholarly journal articles and/or sources.
- Journal articles and books should be referenced according to current APA style.
Side note: I wouldn’t really be able to use my work schedule as a i work on needle exchange clinic and is 9-5 job we don’t stay after hours shifts like hospital where they have a nurse to patient ratio with rotating schedules. So this assignment seems to be more pertaining to hospital setting I am assuming.
