Assignment 2 –Recruitment and Selection Analysis (25%) As part of the assessment you are required to review & comment on a Selection Interview by applying module content & HRM best practice using the following suggested criteria:
Opening Interview (Developing rapport, setting scene, etc.)
Middle Interview (Question skills; listening skills, evidence of preparation etc.)
Closing Interview (Closing, confirming future action etc.) Suggestions for improvement (What you would do differently etc.)

- You are asked to write a critique of this interview based on what you have learned in class and what the literature suggests.
- Please comment on positives and / or weaknesses that you identify in the video.
- For any positives, please explain why it is deemed a positive.
- For any weaknesses, please explain how it should be changed and why it should be changed.
- You might want to refer to:
- Body language
- Questions / question type
- Format / structure of the interview
- Limitations
- You do not have an interview brief / CV for this position, you are not being asked whether the questions were appropriate for this specific position, you are being asked if the questions are generally considered strong in an interview setting.
- This interview clip is short to keep the assignment manageable, you are not being asked to comment on the fact it should be longer.
