OPTION 1:
Critically analyse the Legal Services Regulation Act 2015. In completing this assignment, you should consider the position prior to the Act and the impetus for it, the main provisions of the Act, that is, how it sought to improve the regulation of the legal profession in Ireland, any evidence of how it is functioning thus far, and, whether any amendments have been made.
OPTION 2:
Considering the Legal Services Regulation Act, set out in detail the legislative process and track this statute through its various stages. In doing so, you should firstly note the sources and distinctions within the law and into which category your statute falls. You should then access all relevant documents on the Oireachtas website and other relevant academic sources in order to determine and analyse the steps of the process and any contentious issues debated and resolved from one stage to the next. You should further determine whether any amendments have been made to the statute and why.
