Your team has started with new managerial positions at Emirates Airline. Sir Tim Clark, the
airline’s President, was particularly interested in hiring your team because of your
multidisciplinary view of businesses and your expertise in doing environmental analysis.
At this point, your team only has a snapshot of Emirates Airline’s situation. Nonetheless, Clark
wants to have a report of your preliminary analysis and thoughts about Emirates Airline’s future.
You have a meeting with Clark next week. As such, you have been asked to produce a short
report. Your task is to answer the following questions:
2. Perform a 5 forces analysis of the airline industry using external sources of information. As
you do this, please make sure you use your general knowledge of the airline industry.
However, look at outside sources to provide some evidence of the threat/non-threat of each of
the 5 forces to substantiate your assessment.
Emirates Airline should consider doing to improve its performance and help Emirates Airline resume its growth.
Expectations
The analysis of the group case should reflect both your understanding of the material covered in
the text as well as other insights you have gained from other functional area courses. You are
encouraged to approach the case with an integrated multi-functional perspective of the
organization and to explicate recommendations clearly and concisely in writing. There are
multiple possible answers to the questions provided. Use the critical thinking and problem-
solving skills you have developed through your university career.

grade and you will be sent to the Office of Student Conduct.
