Weekly Discussion Guidelines
Weekly Discussion Guidelines (Weeks 1-11)
As part of your learning experience, active participation in discussions is essential. An important part of the final grade will be based on your participation. You will be evaluated on the quality and quantity of your participation in the discussion forum corresponding to the grading rubric.
To meet the minimum participation requirements, you will post on three days during the week. For the first post (initial post), select one of the discussion prompts to answer. It is due by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on day four of the week. To address the chosen prompt fully, you will refer to the topical outline of the course syllabus that corresponds with the prompt you select.
This will help demonstrate your understanding of the content while providing a thorough and detailed discussion post. Initial posts must include at least one APA 7th edition style in-text citation and full matching references of an appropriate reading to support your responses. Once you make the initial post, you will see other people’s posts. You will then post responses on at least two additional days. The response posts are due by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on day seven of the week.
The initial post and response posts should be in your own words and demonstrate critical
thinking, analysis, and the expected level of knowledge. They should be more than a few
sentences. They should be in complete sentences and paragraph form. You should not have
bullet points as they are not in complete sentences or paragraph form. Copy-pasting from outside sources may result in zero.
Weekly Reflection Guidelines
Week 12 Reflection: Course Wrap-Up
For this final reflection, respond to the following items in your initial post. Peer responses are not
required for this abbreviated final week.
Consulting your Unit 10 AI, Digital, and Information Literacy Reassessment, reflect on how
your AI, digital, and information literacy skills improved from the start of the course. Which
skills do you feel you advanced over the span of the course?
Select one of the course student learning outcomes (CSLOs) and explain how you
achieved that outcome through specific presentations, assignments, and discussions you
completed in the course.
CSLO 1 Examine core concepts and techniques in AI.
CSLO 2 Analyze ethical considerations of AI use.
CSLO 3 Recognize the societal impacts of AI.
This course introduces fundamental concepts and applications of artificial intelligence (AI).
Students will explore topics including digital literacy, information literacy, data privacy, algorithmic bias, ethics, and safety when using AI tools and other technologies. By the end of the course, students will be prepared to ethically engage with AI and other technologies in academic and professional settings and demonstrate foundational AI literacy and a critical perspective on the opportunities and challenges AI presents in society.
